Join the Sunset Saddle Club in appreciating the beauty and amazement of horses right here in Albert Lea. We have 6 closed member shows and 2 open WSCA shows annually. We also host many barrel races and other community events throughout the year! Annually we also host the Allzin for Alzheimer’s Benefit barrel race which is a benefit for Alzheimer’s and is a show in which brings participants from all over the Midwest to our fairgrounds, The Sunset Saddle Club has been active in Albert Lea for over 70 years! Our membership includes people who own their horses as well as those to have a love for horses. Our events include classes for young children through senior citizens. We work with the local 4-H clubs and Freeborn County Fair to provide horseman clinics for teaching as well as professional horse shows for our community entertainment. Our shows are FREE for spectators to come watch. Selling advertisements on our platforms and recruiting sponsorships allows our Club to remain active in continuing a long tradition of sharing our love of horses with the public and allows spectators to watch for free. The annual booklet that the Saddle Club has printed annually lists all the events for the summer, along with all of our sponsors and local businesses that have chosen to advertise in it. This book is distributed to all members as well as the businesses that are included in it. Last year we handed out over 100 books!
